Part 1
of our program contains five lessons, five assignments, and five examinations. Audio/visual links and presentations reinforce the subject matter. The first part of the program gradually introduces participants into the world of a Flight Attendant.
Lesson 1.1
Introduction
This lesson plan is designed to introduce students to the role of a Flight Attendant. It explores the history of the job and offers insight into the mandatory training requirements, government regulatory boards and finally a typical work day.
Lesson 1.2
Terminology
This lesson plan is designed to explain terms and expressions used frequently in the role of a Flight Attendant. Many of these words appear throughout the program and will give the student a better understanding of their meaning, especially when looking at the visuals.
Lesson 1.3
Aircraft
This lesson plan is designed to familiarize you with the features of an aircraft, as well as some common differences and aircraft manufacturers. We will describe both the exterior and interior of a passenger airplane.
Lesson 1.4
Equipment
This lesson plan describes the everyday "tools" of the Flight Attendant profession. It offers insight into their exact purpose and why they are so important. Knowing the function of these items is extremely important, especially during an emergency situation.
Lesson 1.5
Responsibilities
This lesson will give examples of Flight Attendant responsibilities both on and off the aircraft. They encompass policies and procedures derived not only from government regulations but the airline itself. Many policies or procedures are drafted as a direct result of previous incidents and accidents.
